Career Highlights:

  • Development Integration tester at IBM UK on a later version (3.1) of ESME (External Short Message Entities) using Websphere Application Developer, Clearcase and XMLSpy.
  • System, E2E & Business Scenario tester at IBM UK on two applications residing in the Common Shop Environment (CSE) for mobile client O2:
    • ESME - an internet based application allowing business customers access to either the client(O2) or a broker of their choice to purchase Short Message Services.
    • RFE (Retail Front End) - web based application allowing high street retailers in O2 and non O2 shops (Dixon, The Link etc) to sell mobile phones to both the general public and business consumers. Also enabled the relevant order data to be sent to O2's Geneva billing and Care Assistant operations.
  • System tester at IBM UK on the Integrated Customer Management System (interactive TV billing); and on a Unix-based electricity (UoS) billing system; and on BT Billing 90's (client server, MVS) dealing with all aspects of the bill pipe and system performance.
  • At BT Cellnet, Y2K system tester on three major billing sub-systems: TED (MS-Access, UNIX, Oracle) dealing with the pre-pay mobiles; CAMS (VAX, HP, Oracle, Business Objects) pricing interconnecting calls; and TAP covering overseas and UK mobile calls.
  • At W H Smith, responsible for stress test specifications to check all aspects of the EPOS system worked as expected when hardware and software features are stressed and/or when failures occur.
  • At IBM Information Solutions Ltd responsible for end user support for the World trade Advanced Administration System (PL/1, IMS).
  • At Lloyds Bank plc, member of the technical support team installing LAN server software and resolving software/hardware problems.
